In 1978 Jim Hediger built his OHIO SOUTHERN Layout- he had a fleet of twenty one diesel models to run things. He had 18 main line engines and three SW1500 shunters. Jim ran the engines in pairs back to back as the layout was point to point and there was no need to turn the engines around. By comparison I have one Diesel, five freight cars and a caboose.
An early version of Jim's Layout.
All the best. KEV.
You don't really need a lot of locomotives to enjoy operation!
ReplyDeleteIt's all about quality and not quantity.
ROGER- Yes, I'm finding that with just one Diesel model I can have a lot of enjoyment.
