Hi...Thought to show you my two DUTCH Dolls. The Dolls are a lot different to the ones Chris bought back in 1972- they are taller and a completely different make- although dressed the same.
The two DUTCH Dolls.
The Boy DUTCH Doll.
The Girl DUTCH Doll.
I'm very pleased with the DUTCH Dolls.
They are just delightful and will make a very nice addition to my Collection of Special Things.
Best Wishes. KEV.
I am sure we had something similar "back n the day"! We visited Holland as a family for a few days circa 1972 I think, so maybe we had ones similar to Chris?!
ReplyDeleteHi Kieth- We were in Amsterdam back in June of 2015- saw some Souvenere Dolls then though did purchase anything- so pleased now with my Dutch Dolls. It is good to know you have been to Holland. Cheers. KEV.
DeleteWhen my daughter was very small she 'bought' me a little round box that I could keep my 'wargamings' dice in. I daresay her Mum paid for the purchase. Nice ceramic box - with the fairy sitting on it. Yes, I did use it for that purpose, it even showed up at the club, until the fairy's rather slender arm broke. Repaired, the thing now sits in a cabinet of 'special things...'
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Ion
Hi ION- yes, it is good to have some Special Things in our collections- I find that the items hold a lot of good memories and makes you feel good and happy. Cheers. KEV.
DeleteI like them! My great grand parents came from the Netherlands and I live near Holland MI, where there are many things named after places in the Netherlands as so many people settled there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mari- pleased you like my two Dutch Dolls- they are brilliant. Very interesting that your Great Grand Parents hailed from the Nethrelands- that is very good to know that your heritage is Dutch- the Dutch are very good people- I had a mate here who was Dutch who lived nearby- a very good friend indeed. Best Wishes. KEV.
