Hi....Thought to show you my display of SONTARAN soldiers. I prefer these ones to the later blue uniformed types. With the Sontaran Spheres - I wasn't about to pay $400 for genuine sphere ships so I purchased some $3.50 Toy Rubber Balls and made cardboard circular bases for them and sprayed them with silver paint. They look the part. I do like my Sontaran.
Best Wishes. KEV.
Hi Kev,
ReplyDeleteI like your home-made Sontaran spheres, they have a nicely futuristic texture to that tiling pattern. Definitely not worth spending silly money on licensed models when you can produce something like this.

Thanks DAVE - pleased you like the improvised Sontaran Spheres- yes, and a big saving into the bargain. KEV.
DeleteThe Sontaran spheres look great. If you had not said they were home-made I would have assumed they were purchased.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleasantly surprised you thought the Sontaran Spheres were commercial items- I'm glad I decided to make them - certainly they go well with the Sontaran figures.
DeleteThey look great! You are very creative!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mari- the Spheres were easy to make for the Sontaran- well pleased with them.
Delete$3.50 sounds a lot better than 400. You did well making them!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen- yes, certainly saved some dollars on the Sontaran Spheres- I'm well pleased with how they turned out. KEV.
DeleteThe figures look very cool Kev and your creativity with spray painting footballs is excellent!
ReplyDeleteThanks KIETH- I though about how to do the Sontaran Spheres - mainly to save money- certainly pleased with the final result. Cheers. KEV.
DeleteI don't remember the Sontaran's (I don't think I ever got over that first episode with the Daleks in 1963) but these look good!
ReplyDeleteHi IAN- Thanks- glad you like the Sontaran and their Spheres. I missed out on the early 1st and 2nd Doctor WHO shows as we didn't have a TV until much later...catching up now- and can enjoy the 60th Anniversary. Cheers. KEV.
