The American Postal Service is pathetic. I've been waiting 45 days for a single figure from the US to arrive- nothing has shown up. Also my order for three little Star Wars Figures will take 5 weeks to arrive from the US - 5 weeks! I have received orders from England and they have taken only 10 days. I've gone right off America - I use to think they were good at everything - though their Postal Service? Nah!

ReplyDeleteKIETH- Yes, it is all very annoying- cannot believe that something the size of a standard envelope would take 5 plus weeks to arrive- this is the last time I'll order anything from the US.
DeleteThat is ridiculous! I wonder where it's held up? I sent something from the US to France last month and it arrived in less than 2 weeks.

Hi MARI- Yes, ridiculous amount of time...very unacceptable. I'm trying not to loose interest in my STAR WARS project...a 5 weeks wait is very intolerable.
DeleteI shouldn't wonder, Kev, that the US Government is deliberately running down the public postal service in order to give a leg up to 'private enterprise'. But here's thing. Whom does the public enterprise serve? The public. Whom does the private enterprise serve? The 'shareholder'. Don't expect any better service from private enterprise than the public sector.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking (with considerable interest!) a kickstarter project out of Wisconsin called Civic Axis - a game that bears similarities to Axis and Allies and Civilization (and coincidentally to the intriguing but flawed concept from a bunch of Auckland University coves 50 years ago). The thing is very pricey (the full 6-player game comes to US$1000+), but, were it not for the US Postal Service which, quite apart from the inefficiencies you have experienced, is hellishly expensive, I might have been tempted to get at least a basic version.

ION- Yes, the US Postal Service is expensive- I've paid $83 in postage to have three 25mm sent to me- to wait 5 plus weeks for them to arrive is intolerable...just totally annoying. Good luck getting your Game from the US...it is all a bit risky at present and hope that things can improve....Regards. KEV.
