STINGRAY - The PUPPET Makers.

Hi...I've recently found out who made several of the STINGRAY Puppets way back in 1963.

Mary Turner made 'Captain Troy Tempest' and 'Marina'. John Brown made Troy's sidekick 'PHONES'.
Christine Glanville made 'Atlanta Shore', 'Titan' and Titan's Agent 'X-2-Zero'.

'Atlanta Shore'.

'Captain Troy Tempest'.

On the STINGRAY Set - Gerry and Sylvia Anderson with the Puppets - 'Troy Tempest' and 'Marina'.

Well- that is my news for to-day. Stay well Friends. Cheers. KEV.

    1. BRAD,
Yes, the Puppets are superbly made for STINGRAY- I think they were made to 1/3rd Scale with larger heads- and STINGRAY Puppets certainly do have character and charm. The people who did the sculpting and wardrobe were very skilled artisans- absolutely a brilliant team. Cheers. KEV.

    1. TONY,
Yes- the style of the STINGRAY Puppets is charming and very appealing- I was under the impression that the Puppets were made by one person- instead I found out there was a team of dedicated artisans and craftspeople who created each individual Puppet for STINGRAY. I have not found out who made the Aquaphybian Puppets yet and Commander Sam Shore. Cheers. KEV.

  3. They were very nice puppets but Captain Scarket is still my favourite! Maybe that can be your next project?

    1. KIETH,
I can see why you liked the puppets for the Captain Scarlet TV series- they are very life-like and do emulate reality as opposed to the Stingray Puppets which were more based on charactures- with bigger heads than normal and exagerated features. I'd guess that you would also like the 'Joe 90' series as well Keith? To be honest I've never seen and episode of Captain Scarlet- something which I need to remedy. Stay well there in NZ Friend. Cheers. KEV.
