CAMBERWICK GREEN.

Hi...I've taken a liking to 'CAMBERICK GREEN' -a 1960s stop motion Puppet TV Show. I thought it may be fun to sculpt some miniature figures along the lines of the characters from Camberwick Green.

I've ordered Gordon Murray's book as it may help me to view all the characters.

A view from the TV show- showing the Townsfolk at the center of town.

I hope to do the sculpting of the miniature figures with FIMO.
I may also try to cobble together some buildings and a train too.
Well- that is my news.
Stay well. Cheers. KEV.

  1. I loved Camberwick Green when I was a bairn, Trumpton too. I can still remember the theme tunes, smashing!.

    1. PAUL,
So glad you remember Camberwick Green and Trumpton - very special puppet shows- very cleverly made back in the 1960s. Cheers. KEV.

  3. I was, and am, (grandchildren to entertain) a big fan of the Trumpton stories and still have the instructions for making some of the characters from plasticine. The dvd sets would be useful for inspiration. Best of luck in your project.

    1. JOPPY,
Yes- Trumpton and Camberwick Green are certainly inspirational. I don't think I will try to be so accurate with the sculpting as I do not like to copy things- so I'll probably do my own thing when it comes to the miniature people. Thanks for the well wishes. Cheers. KEV.

  4. Likewise....in fact I mentioned them in a blog comment quite recently, for a reason that escapes me. Captain Snort and Sergeant Major Gruff commanded the troops from Pippin Fort if I recall correctly ! I think there was a third linked programme, Chigley, centred on the local aristocrat and his private steam engine...."Time flies by when I'm the driver of a train, And I ride on the footplate there and back again...."! Great stuff, and I look forward to seeing what you can do to replicate some of the characters Kev!

    1. KIETH,
You have a great memory for Camberwick Green, Trumpton and Chigley- delightful puppet shows with great appeal and wonderful to watch- great characters. I do not think I'll be making my miniature people modeled so closely on the shows - I don't think I'm very good at copying- so I will probably be doing my own thing for the FIMO miniatures....I'll decide on a figure scale when I receive a Toy Train Set that I've ordered for modifying the project. Cheers. KEV.
